This film was extremely disappointing. I found the portrayal of marital conflict and the depiction of divorce to be highly exaggerated and unrealistic. Given the rising divorce rates in India, the film's approach felt particularly irresponsible.
One scene, in particular, where the protagonist serves dirty water instead of shikanji to her husband and in-laws, was deeply problematic. It sends a harmful message that such actions are acceptable responses to marital or familial disagreements. This portrayal is not only unrealistic but also potentially damaging, as it may influence viewers negatively.
While the film attempts to address the importance of pursuing one's dreams, it does so in a way that promotes unhealthy conflict and disrespect. There are many constructive and respectful ways to achieve personal goals, and this film fails to explore those alternatives. I hope viewers recognize the film's flawed messaging and do not internalize its negative portrayals.
