This movie, although filled with a stellar cast, left me terrified. I am afraid for any man who sees this movie and thinks that it had a happy ending. Eva Mendes' character is portrayed as cold and afraid of love, when really, every one of her grievances about Hitch are correct. Alex Hitchens makes a living by teaching men that all women are basically the same, and that they are all easy (yeah, THAT kind of easy). This movie is exactly why most women are afraid of most men. We're not afraid of scary-looking thugs, or guys that seem angry all the time, or guys that we can tell right away are bad news. We're afraid of men like Hitch and the men he mentors. Men who say they're "nice guys". How "nice" are you, really, when you believe in advice from a man that treats women like programmable toys.
