The pacing in the beginning felt a bit rushed but smoothed over by the end, and you eventually end up with an interesting explanation for the title of the movie. As a Dragon Quest fan who has yet to play DQ5, I started off unsure about the movie but absolutely loved it by the time the credits rolled. Definitely recommend it!
