Beautifully written. Loved the characters. The last few pages were the weakest and a bit confusing. . .but really liked it overall.

Good. Maybe. Not at first, it took a minute. I appreciated the historical accuracy and enjoyed some of the character and plot development. I just found it to be incredibly predictable and cliche. I told my husband that I didn't know if I was insanely intuitive or if it was sophomorically written. He suggested perhaps a little of both. Grateful to learn about the true-grit Pack Horse Librarians and the impact they had in rural Eastern Kentucky in the 1930's and early 40's.
