Jack Reacher

It’s a pig in lipstick. Don’t get me wrong the lipstick is good bordering on really good. VFX did an amazing job, cinematography was good, the action sequences were very enjoyable even the score was good. The problem is everything under the lipstick was bad. The characters were all 2 dimensional and we’ve seen them before. I’m honestly not sure how they didn’t get Katee Sackhoff to play the coyote because that character looked like what you’d get if you ordered Dahl from Riddick on Wish. All the reviews telling you Snyder did something new or creative with the Zombies simply aren’t familiar with the genre. Everything he did with the zombie characters has been done before (sometimes better but occasionally worse). The real anchor around the movie’s neck though was the script. If Snyder got paid to write that he should be ashamed of himself and offer their money back. If you took a handful of existing zombie scripts or books and just played with cut and paste you could’ve produced a comparable script. It could’ve been so good with all the other elements but the script was just lazy and pulled it down. If you like the genre and appreciate the action/gore then the lipstick makes it worth 3 stars just don’t go in with higher expectations.
