I read the book and honestly the movie was not bad. I'm honestly surprised by how much of the book they were able to portray in the movie. The settings were just as I imagined them and I loved seeing my imagination brought to life. The characters weren't too well chosen though. That's a big flaw in the film. The transition between Florentino 1 and 2 was awkward and conspicuous to say the least. The makeup was terrible because they didn't portray the women gaining very well. They plopped a gray wig on them and called it a day.

Read the book and I must say I'm honestly impressed by how much of the story they managed to capture in 2h. It's a good effort I found it funny that instead of shooting it in Russia they decided to use some sort of theatre set up. But anyway, worth a watch. Perhaps if you haven't read the book you'd find the story weird, incomplete and confusing. If you have read it, it's worth a watch.

I am no movie critic. But I'll try to explain why I kinda liked the movie. Although it left me feeling a bit confused about whether I really liked it or didn't... Which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. Reasons it left me feeling confused: 1) It has no concept of time. Although they say it was set in the 1950s, I didn't really see any sign of the times. Nor did I see anything that might suggest they got something wrong 2) I was so confused about the story the entire time. Is it a drama? Is it a thriller? Or is it supposed to be funny because some of the scenes were kind of quirky and funny. 3) Why was liam hemsworth so nice ? Why did he hate the townsmen so much? Was it because of how they treated his brother? What does he have against them? And why did he like tilly so much? Has he never been outside the town to realize what a catch he was? Why didn't he ever leave that awful place? And why did he want to leave it towards the end? Reasons I liked it: 1) The colours and the costumes. The sharp contrast of the Australian outback with the beautiful dresses that Twilly made. Although it wasn't the dress alone that transformed the people, it was the makeup too. 2) How quirky the scenes were and how weird the people acted. It goes to show clothes really change a person and how they perceive themselves 3) All the weird characters. Each more idiosyncratic than the last. 4) How unexpected the plot was. Honestly I never expected some of the parts. 5) I liked the closure Twilly got. She came to town to prove herself and to relieve herself of the title of murderer. Spent some time with her mother and left with answers and nothing left to lose (quite literally nothing!!) Things I didn't like: 1) The weird way in which the kid died. He acted like a bull and killed himself? 😑 Seriously? You couldn't think of anything better? 2) I don't understand how Twilly got all that expensive fabric to make literally 100s of dresses from in the middle of an Australian dessert when we literally saw her come with like two bags. 3) Why didn't she just take her mother and leave those nasty people? Why did she decide to stay and do all those favors. Sure she got the answers she was looking for in the end but she didn't know she was going to! 4) She literally burnt the whole town down and she thought she was gonna get away with it? Wouldn't they come for her? It might be minor inconsistencies but inconsistencies nonetheless. That being said, this was certainly one of the strangest movies I've ever seen and for that reason, I'd say it is worth a watch.

Even for a Christmas movie, this movie was kind of awful. I kind of liked the first movie so watched this one. There were many things in the movie that annoyed me 1) the fact that even the king of belgravia can't recognize his own damn wife 😑 also kevin not being able to recognize his significant other? I watched 1 season of sweet life of zack and cody and could tell the twins apart 😑and this takes me to my second point 2) why TF couldn't they have used twins for this role instead of venesaa hudgens? And why was a third venesaa even necessary? It was stupid she added no value to the film 3) the fact that belgravia is "bel-Grave-ia" but Montenaro is "Monte-nah-row". Why do they have weird accents. Are you british or american? What's going on? Make up your mind! Movie was rather flat with nothing significant or interesting going on. Didn't see the need for a third character since the movie seemed to be about Kevin and Margaret anyway. Should have stopped with the first one and kept it a sweet Christmas move. Now it's Christmas cringe.

I remember this movie coming on tv when I was quite young more than 10 years ago and I remember thinking Christina Ricci ( Penelope) looked really pretty even with her pig face. I really enjoyed this movie because of the way the story was told. It was very fairy-tale like. James McAvoy with his eyes as blue as the waters of a beach in Indonesia was good eye candy (pun intended). Cute movie. Would watch again after some time.

Honestly, this movie was like a breath of fresh air. I was expecting something very corny but it turned out to be quite nice. The acting wasn't half bad (quite natural actually) but the dialogues were extremely realistic. I even liked how awkward the first conversation between Marc and Anna turned out to me. The plot was, you could say, a little bit predictable in some parts, but in some others it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. A very likeable movie. Still a little bit corny, but I would say the corny-ness was quite mature and mellow. Good Christmas movie. Would give it 4.5 stars if I could.

Knew this movie would be garbage when they showed a 13th century knight wanting to take a shower. Gave two stars because the knight was cute.

Just when I thought the acting couldn't get worse. But at least the plot wasn't as predictable this time.

Movie was kinda cringy. Some parts of it were nice like how they portrayed life in the 90s. Kinda gives you a bit of nostalgia (if you lived in Chennai) Some parts of it are just NOT okay in today's time. Like how prashanth thought it was okay to follow simran around and harrass her into liking him. I mean jeez woman how can you like him after that? Anyway must watch if you're looking for some movie to make fun of.

If you thought the first movie was bad you've got another think coming. Get ready for a brilliant cringe fest that will leave you craving for more. P.S Loved that sahil guy. He was so weird and tied the whole movie to get very well.
