The desserts are well-made and Amaury is a kind and skilled instructor, but there is just one problem I have.
The contestants have too much petty drama among themselves for my tastes. It's not nearly as bad as Masterchef US or Hell's kitchen, but I'm 3 episodes in and they're throwing shade at each other, crying every episode, etc and a dude nearly cut off his finger. Some scenes sound scripted, and there's also unnecessary drama fabricated by the structure of the show itself. There was one challenge where they had to arbitrarily pick two people to sit out, and a tie-breaker vote. More wholesome cooking/pastry shows would be bake squad or Masterchef Canada.
Also, it seems like chef Amaury Guichon is a tiny bit biased to me, for some parts. I can't make the call, because I'm not the expert, but sometimes the contestants don't get their due credit.
