I was wondering about how this book might be cause I love the computer game story line so I took a chance on it and downloaded the epub format for my Android reader.
I gotta say that although the grammer was a little off (obviously a first book author), the story was great!
The book started a little dry. A lot of background that truthfully, I skipped right over. Later I read that part and the history was funny but kinda fit the actual dates and events.
The character development was good. I bought into Bridger right away with his dry, sarcastic attitude and background.
The story line scenes were well described and I gotta say, not overly, boringly done either. Just enough to put me in the right mood for the action. There were many parts that fit right into the game itself so I could see them clearly in my memory.
The action sequences were well done too. No long on detail but not short on it either.
The technical parts were good as well. Again, not over the top confusing and boring.
The rescue thing was cool too. The character Alina was done well and Bridgers virtue is astounding. Didn't see her becoming a hero of sorts either so it was a surprise when she managed that.
I read the entire book in two sittings. Once you get started it's a little difficult to put down.
All in all I'd rate it a 3.5 out of 5 only because the editing needs work.
While the ending was done well (cliffhanger) I'm actually looking forward to the second book and disappointed that it's not out yet. It was listed on the website as last year I think and I can't find it anywhere.
