Epic. The original is still my favourite game of all time and I was nervous about this. But they have nailed it. The extra elements and storyline really add depth especially with the relationship to the other avalanche members. The weapon development system is fantastic allowing to switch a character from mage to damage dealer to tank with a simple weapon swap. The battles feel unique especially the bosses I often had to try a number of different strategies to get past them. At no point did I find the battles repetitive. This is not a thrown together remake this is a thorough reimagining of what was already for me the best game ever. The additional elements have simply added even more and they have very wisely kept a similar magic and materia system to the original which was easily the best use of it in the series. Adding new summons and magic only make it better. My one concern now is will part 2 allow you to continue from where you left off with character development. Or will they start you from scratch like a fresh game which for me would be a huge mistake it would take away what individuals have achieved though the first game. Well done square nailed this bang on not just a fantastic remake but on its own an epic game for ff7 faithful and for newbies
