Well, how boring was that?! I give this 2 stars because there are a couple of gruesome and unique kills in this. Unfortunately that doesn’t make up for the monumental snooze fest that is the rest of the film. The idea of shooting an entire movie from the killer’s perspective sounds cool and original on paper. But, by the end of this fil you realize there was really only 20-30 minutes of an actual movie here. The killers look without the mask is not bad, very Jason Vorhees, but that’s ok. But, once he puts on the mask I had to hold back laughter. It’s such a cheesy look it was hard to take the rest of the movie seriously. You know who else didn’t take the movie seriously? The actors. Everyone of their very small performances are so uninspired you’ll have wished the killer walked a lot faster to his destination. The 1 or 2 kills in this movie weren’t enough to save it in my eyes. Wait for this one to stream for free. This way you’ll be able to fast forward a lot of the boring time walking, which is about %75 of this film.

Oh man, I hated this movie. This movie could not be more of an emotionless cash grab if it tried. This movie seemed slapped together over a weekend by regurgitating the original film with zero heart, zero creativity, and zero talent by everyone involved. The writer and director should be ashamed of putting this garbage together solely to take your money to their bank. There was no care whatsoever to put together something original or even entertaining. Just watch the original, it’s superior in every way. This was hands down the worst movie released this year, and probably the worst horror movie to be released in the last five years… root canal is more entertaining. Save your money and don’t support films like this that’s sole purpose is to take your money by destroying a franchise that deserves better.

I don’t even know where to begin with how bad this show is. You will constantly be questioning characters motives, intentions and even questioning what the hell is going on! It’s so void of any structure and intelligent plot. It’s obvious this is an attempt at a zombie cash grab 10 years too late. It’s carnage for the sake of being violent with no intention of telling a compelling story. What made walking dead and other tropes like it so intriguing was the character progression. Have a seemingly normal personality thrown into unexpected chaos, and watch how they have to slowly progress into someone that walks that thin line between good and evil to survive. This show has none of that. One minute, a normal “family” person and the next a cold blooded killer with no character arc as to how they got there. When a main cast member dies you feel nothing, because you just don’t care about any of them because they seem fake and forced. By episode 4 of the first season it was more of a chore to see if I could even get through the whole damn thing. For some reason, they thought it would be cool to give every scene (and I mean every scene!) it’s own title. Which really takes you out of the moment. They put in a main character who doesn’t speak English, yet seems to be able to understand it but only when it’s convenient. Another character who’s goal is to make it to a stadium that her daughter was taken to for some god knows reason. Spoiler, she and 4 other people in the whole damn city make it to that stadium and wouldn’t ya know it her daughter is one of them. I just wish I was more articulate, so I could explain how bad this show really is. It comes down to the fact there are 100’s of zombie shows and movies that are great, and worth your time. This is not one of them.

If you go into this movie expecting a horror movie, you’ll be disappointed. If you go into this movie expecting a sci-fi thriller, you’ll probably be disappointed. It’s a satire on all others in those categories. Horror isn’t really there, but I wouldn’t expect much with a PG-13 rating. Expect fun, with a good amount of laughs and one or two jump scares. Prepare for a comedy and you’ll have a good time with it.

I thought this was one of the best entries in the franchise in decades. Yes, there will be times you question characters actions. Yes, there is some cringe worthy acting. Yes, there are plot holes. But, as an all around slasher movie it has a pretty decent story line, some real quality kills and does the iconic character the true justice he/it deserves!
