I was late to this party, purely intentional.
Owing to the fact I heard all of the nightmares and poor reviews upon its release. Chucked it on the back-burner for a few years. Knew CD PR would fix it. And sure enough, they've done that, and even more. Reminds me of the situation around Kingdom Come: Deliverance when it launched. And oh boy, KCD ended up being an absolute banger.
But, hot damn, I am glad I have finally given it a solid crack. The attention to detail in Night City is absolutely phenomenal. The 4K graphics alongside this, I can not find good enough words to describe how amazing they are. I feel like a cheesy salesman saying this, but, it's actually mind blowing.
Enjoying the story quite a lot.
Not overly complicated and easy to digest.
The games characters are all pretty cool and well developed with interesting personalities, and even more interesting agendas.
Wrapping your head around the perks and leveling system isn't too difficult, seems overwhelming at first, mainly because there's quite a few different character builds you can make, which is good. And after getting the hang of the above, there's then cyberware to further compliment your characters build. All in all, CD PR have done a great job at opening up all sort of playstyle versatility. And if you mess up you can always select the prompt to redistribute your skill points.
Some visual and aesthetic bugs can pop up occasionally, such as clothes rendering issues and very rarely everything, and I mean everything, will start flashing almost like a strobe party. All these bugs are easily solved, save, quit game and reboot. Problem gone. I'm sure these bugs won't be an issue in the future to come, it's nice to see CD PR haven't abandoned this project.
I recommend this gem of a game to any open-world RPG loving gamers out there.
