I loved this new iteration. I watched the first series as a kid and have had the complete series, the New Adventures, and the Cartoon Network version since the early 2000s. I loved the first series like everyone did but it was a nonsensical mess quite often. The CN version did a great job of creating a backstory and a logical progression through a series, not a hodge-podge show that was put together to sell toys.
This version does a good job of expanding on the first series while giving the depth of the CN version. I've seen a lot of whining from the usual suspects, but as always, they've proven they never paid attention to the source material in the first place. Quite a few episodes in the first series DID NOT center around He-Man; EVEN Orko had his own episodes. So the BS complaints about it being a Teela show are stupid & show they clearly never watched the first He-Man & ***The Masters of the Universe*** i.e. his friends, which was what the show was about. They even explicitly SAY IT at the end of a few of the episodes that told the moral of the story... Teamwork, friendship, etc. The show was NEVER solely about He-Man & it's clear these poor reviews are from people without the wit & emotional intellect to actually pay attention to something & glean what you're supposed to. Probably, the same people that had issues in English class doing a simple book report because it always went over their heads and failed because they completely missed the point. Enjoy the 1st part of the new series, you'll see many of the Masters of the Universe all getting their chances to shine.
