This was material that provided very good satire and commentary on social issues and mental health during this time of pandemic. The whole arc and theme about being inside makes its presence well known. “All Eyes on Me” is calming, cathartic, and inspiring.

For the comic book genre, there seems to be a desire to depart from the norm. This movie is exactly what that desire gets. We get a relatively low budget character study. Joaquin Phoenix is strong in capturing a frail, lost mind. And the Joker he shows can be anyone who loses their humanity. As far as a Joker origin story goes, this is the last one we will ever need. Joker is an Everyman villain and Joaquin Phoenix captured it brilliantly.
