loved it so much. i thought this would be a bad woke version of grease. while it is more woke, a lot of people are acting like being politically, socially, and economically aware in a 1950โs era is unheard of. this isnโt a remake of grease, keep in mind. this isnโt just a love story where they fly in a car. this is about the pink ladies and how they were formed. this show presents actual problems that happened during the 50s and thatโs clearly presentable nowadays. i admit, at times i didnโt like the writing. like how susan (the blonde one obsessed with buddy) kept having character development, then going back to phase one. also her song was just giving 2018 girls power. which isnโt a bad thing but i think if youโre going to introduce her on a deeper level as a character, you should include more about her motherโs influence on her life. how she is mentally, not just singing about driving as a metaphor for girls can do anything. on top of that, right after that song, sheโs finally on janeโs side and helps her while being stubborn to admit it. AND THEN HER MOM MESSES HER UP. then she goes back to her pick me behavior and itโs so annoying honestly. anyways, i also have a problem with nancy. i feel like her character wasnโt really dug into. unlike jane, cynthia, and olivia, nancy didnโt have any depth into her except for being a mean, man hating, amazingly styled, future fashion designer whoโs parents work at a famous high school hang out spot. i donโt think sheโs had a solo song and my apologies if she does and i forget it but i wish she had one. i wish that i only heard her voice in one song and not accompanied or overpowered by someone else. itโs so sad because i couldnโt connect to her on a deeper level like the other girls did. the even sadder part is that i actually like her character but she was too dramatic with hating boys and her reasons are actually valid. i connect to her on the surface level, i like fashion design and i have experience with girls changing herself for boys and i also hate them on a certain level but iโm not that mean, chill out. some of the songs were a little off but itโs fine. i liked all of the other characters developments. overall the show was amazing and just give it a chance. p.s i really need some clarity on how zuko from grease 1 could be in this series because they were supposed to be seniors in grease 1. since the story takes place 4 years before, zuko would be a freshman. jane freaking out about him in the end just leads to more questions. maybe zuko stayed back a few years or the people in grease 1 were actually a year or two younger. in any case, i canโt wait for season 2 because of all of this mystery, thank you for reading my little review rant.
