I was very happy about Bridget Jones returning to the screen. Unfortunately, after just 10 minutes, my excitement turned into deep disappointment… Let’s start with the title: ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy’. You might expect another love story in the classic, crazy Bridget Jones style, filled with plenty of humour and funny moments…hmm… Instead, the movies offers you tear-jerking scenes, making you experience catharsis (without wine). There is a brief episode involving “the boy”, but it is completely different from - and even the opposite of - Bridget’s previous romantic adventures. And THAT is the biggest disappointment! Because for most of the movie, you go through deep grief with Bridget as she mourns the loss of her true love, Mark Darcy. So, think twice before going to see “Bridget Jones: The deep Grief’.
