I have played the game for a bit of time since it launched in New York of the USA and I am extremely disappointed. In the beginning, the story had too many plot holes and was so underwhelming. Kyle Crane’s mysterious ally, Olivia, seemed so unpleasant in her attitude and dialogue. And the way the game kept switching between first-person and third-person view with Kyle Crane completely took away one of the things that made Dying Light unique and immersive. Also, the parkour seemed too demanding compared to the previous games with puzzles and no transversal equipment early on. The combat and gameplay were very rigid and wonky. Even on Easy Mode. Much more than even Dying Light 2 today. And the trucks’ mobility were way too slow and heavy compared to The Following Buggy. All the zombies kept damaging me despite dodging and kicking them at precise moments. And the stamina bar was too small and depleted too quickly, no matter the difficulty. The beast mode was so annoying when it automatically activates after beating up enemies and getting hurt. It requires you to upgrade with Beast Points for a while before you can activate it at will. Worse, all the zombies’ designs, except for the Volatiles, seemed like those from classic zombie games and/or their remakes like House of The Dead - Remake. So lame. Even the Chimeras looked like Demolisher knockoffs. All the trailers have deceived me, and hopefully others, into thinking this game would be so cool. I’m glad I got this for free thanks to my Dying Light 2 - Ultimate Edition digital game. Otherwise, I would be so mad!

When this game was first released, its gameplay was underwhelming. Especially the night-time gameplay. However, the open world, the story, the characters, the new zombie variants, the activities, the power to change the world around you. They all made this game a very significant change of pace from the original Dying Light game. Especially Aidan Caldwell, whose character showed a path of self-discovery with so much potential to change in a variety of ways. Today, this game has come so far. So many changes to the performance, qualities, and activities that have incredibly improved the game overall! While the original Dying Light game will always be a true classic, this game will always be my favorite! Thank you, Techland!!

This is definitely the best Zombie Apocalypse game of all time! The atmosphere, the open world, the story, the gameplay, everything! It is all so immersive, touching, and full of fun and action! Especially Kyle Crane, whose character is full of development and inspiration! The Volatiles at night make me imagine the real world being dangerous at night in a similar manner, filled with thrills. A true “classic!” Thank you so much, Techland, for giving this to the world and making a franchise out of it!
