Set in Staten Island in the 1980’s and early 90’s, Fresh Kills shares Rose Larusso’s experience as as a daughter of Joe and Fran, sister to Connie, and girlfriend of Bobby. While her family seems to embrace or at least accept the fateful lifestyle inherent to her dad’s role as a mafia boss and his insistence that everything he does is for the “betterment of his girls”, Rose isn’t sure. We watch as the sisters grow up, their lives and relationships shaped and twisted by a subplot defined by Joe’s choices milestones and setbacks and their impact on their aunt Christine and cousin Allie. It’s a movie for everyone who likes mafia movies or just great movies. This fast paced, high energy movie will command your attention to the point you don’t want to blink.
