Oppenheimer who? This movie is absurd, hilarious, heartwarming and eye-opening in all the best ways. Margot Robbie surpasses the acting limit to bring Barbie herself to life while also depicting her existential evolution, Ryan Gosling NEEDS the Best Actor Oscar for his convincingly-ridiculous yet stellar performance as “just” Ken, Greta Gerwig proves she knows a whole other movie aesthetic than her works of Little Women and Lady Bird, and honourable mentions go to America Ferrera as the happy-go-lucky mother Gloria and Kate McKinnon as the unusual Weird Barbie. Definitely recommend 10/10 and if somebody doesn’t think so, that’s their opinion. A potential Oscars candidate for good (although it would compete against many of this year’s films).
