Charlie Day's brilliant portrayal of Charlie Chaplin's Tramp in today's LA is both hilarious and brutal. As a commentary on the Hollywood and political elite (he gets his name Latte Pronto, because a studio executive shouts for one, absolutely no one is put off that he never speaks) this movie shines. But its Charlie staying true to the silent movie slapstick that had me laughing the entire time. Its a wonderful modern version of the black and white classics. Charlie Day keeps his brilliantly borrowed Tramp character true to form, while still including the dark characters and starkly honest observations he is known for with Always Sunny.
