I’m at page 82, and I’m torn between throwing the book at my wall or just keep reading and letting the anger burn. Because… what in the name of racism is Wahala about? Three insufferable, self-obsessed Anglo-Nigerian women moaning and bemoaning about their lives non-stop. It’s looking like a dragged unending littany. But that’s not even the problem, it’s the over exaggerated description of Nigeria and its culture? It’s the subtle racism. What does she mean people eat rats in Nigeria, and then Simi went ahead to say those people would eat anything.
I mean, this book is definitely not for Nigerians, it would only upset and annoy. I’m sorry, I’m not done with the book, but I think I hate it.
