I honestly don't understand why there are so many negative reviews on this movie. It bothers me so much that I decided to write my own review to help bump up it's score. I am a huge marvel/superhero movie fan and I love the contrasting, dark take of New Mutants, compared to the typical high-energy, exciting, fun movies. Definitely wished they filmed it to be a bit more like a horror film, as I was expecting a horror film, but I wasn't disappointed either way. I was never exposed to the New Mutants prior to watching this movie, but I gotta say, I am a fan! Dani's powers alone made me intrigued for a sequel. It makes me wonder: how would they fair against Thanos? Would he just see an overly populated world? LOL I also enjoyed how subtle the lgbtq+ aspect was. It didn't really feel in your face and actually just felt casual, which is how it should be. Overall, I thought it was a perfect contrast of the typical superhero movie and I would love to see a sequel. And if you're like me and don't understand the negativity, post a review! Let's give this film a score it deserves!
