This is a debut album that makes its case to be known and recognized as a great. All the greats seem to have that "something special" element about them; they are different, they make you feel, and you listen to them front to back each time--think PJ "Ten", Counting Crows "August and Everything After", The Killers "Hot Fuss"... This album feels personal and emotes a vulnerability that is not typically found in rock. That is the beauty, it is at times serious, poignant, and fun. Not an easy feat. This is an album that you can work out to or just chill on the porch sipping a drink. The musicians are clearly talented and the lyrics and voice are unique and easy to get lost in. Mostly, I am happy to have some music to help me crawl out of this pandemic life with some hope and reflection that are welcome.
