Late to the show, but here are my thoughts. I understand that not all K-dramas are the same, but Iโm noticing a trend where women are portrayed as naive and sheltered. In this particular show, the female lead kept fighting her feelings, and while she had her justifications, she ultimately deceived him and then acted as if nothing had happenedโeven though he had genuine feelings for her.
To put it frankly, she was being a tease, leading him on, and acting like a 12-year-old. All the running and hiding came off as extremely immature. And donโt even get me started on her so-called friendโwho confesses her feelings for someone, sleeps with him, and then blows him off the next day. Rude!
Honestly, Iโm kind of glad it was only 12 episodes. The show became annoying after a while. In real life, she was screaming red flags. She just kept lying. It wasnโt even clear what the issue was with her not being able to be with him. Maybe I donโt get it, seeing as a CEO isnโt trying to get with me, but if he did, and I genuinely liked him and he liked me back, I wouldnโt be rude.
Whatโs wrong with Secretary Kim? That was way more realistic and reasonable than this show.
