This game was ruined by Nintendo!
I had high hopes for it, expecting a few things from the original. Boy were there so many issues with this game.
1st- no sidekicks, all the captains can be on one team. Not really a horrible deal breaker but still I liked the fact I could pick sidekicks and have one main captain to make the team unique.
2nd-the goalies/AI are horrible. The (your) goalie will almost never grab the ball, he will always slap it or chest it or kick it out instead of grabbing it. This has cost me a lot of goals because the goalie slaps it right back at them even though the shot isnโt charged. This also doesnโt get helped by the fact that when youโre switching characters in game, thereโs a chance youโll get switched to the incorrect player. Also, why couldnโt they just keep Kritter as goalkeeper?! He was so much better than whatever this is.
3rd- stadiums, so bland and unoriginal
4th-everyone can do a mega strike (or whatever itโs called in this game)
5th-tackling is horrible, and youโll need to charge if you donโt equip or use someone with a lot of strength. Same with speed/sprinting.
6th- the item boxesโฆwhoโs bright idea was this?! Worst mechanic I have ever seen. Why couldnโt they just give me my items directly like before? Now I have to hope one of my players is near the box(let alone a box both teams could use) to hopefully get the item.
7th-lack of content. Thereโs only a few cups to play offline and this also doesnโt help with the fact that you only have 10 players to choose from. Shouldโve just made a complete game.
The only positives here were that it was soccer (football across the world) and that thereโs little glimpses of what the game used to be.
Overall, this game is at best a 6/10. And thatโs only when itโs actually performing well.
