A good drama that compels you to watch till the end. Often with dramas that have long episodes, you tend to lose interest in the journey if one episode doesn't give that wow factor, but this drama was consistent. A revenge story that would give you immense satisfaction to watch.
This drama, however, also faced the shortcomings that most of the trending, hyped, amazing and mass-loved kdramas suffer. That being how the pacing is consistent all throughout the series but the very last episode that alone would haphazardly wrap up everything in a sudden climax. Unlike those dramas, here, the climax actually made sense and felt apt, however, it could have very much benefitted from a 3(or even just a 2) episode climax rather than everything to quickly wrap up in the very last episode with double or triple the pacing of how it had been in all the previous episodes.
Also, there was an evident lack of conflict/obstacles for the protagonist throughout the drama, everything came way too easy to the protagonist, even though it's established that the protagonist naturally is at an advantage in the story, there still reasonably needed some hurdles for him.
But these two defects is just really trivial if you take into account the drama as a whole and the level of satisfaction it gives watching the revenge story unfold and watching the protagonist win each time.
The acting is marvelous. Song Joongki performed very well but the one who stands out exceptionally well for me this time is Lee Sungmin(who played the grandfather) whom I've had the chance to see on screen very late, the man is a magnificent actor and moves me to check out all his works on screen. The supporting cast was all just as good, really the whole Soonyang family here in the story were so good, everyone rightly casted for the roles.
From now on, I'll be setting this drama as a standard of comparison for the dramas of this genre that are to come in the future.
