This is a compelling movie, but delves too much into the overused/overdone Batman story. At this point, I don't care how Bruce Wayne feels. He's angry for no reason other than his daddy wasn't the hero he thought his dad was. Poor baby. All of us go through that BS when we find out our parents have foibles and failings, especially if we thought they were wonderful--I never had that problem. I always knew mom and dad had feet of clay--no big deal. But Brucie just can't handle it. I have no sympathy for Bruce at all, especially after seeing this movie. The Riddler really had a traumatic chilhood and has every reason to be angry. Now we have the backstory for him, just as we did for the Joker. Hip, hip hooray! These "bad" guys are not bad, just tortured and angry--for good reason. Makes Brucie a terrible lightweight we're supposed to feel sorry for. I certainly didn't feel sorry for him, especially next to Alfred, who has good reasons to be conflicted. It's time for little Brucie to grow up. His endless existential angst is tiresome. .
