Gavin hates the fact that the UK voted to leave the Eu. He simply can’t get over this fact, and it seriously damages the entire text. Nowhere, in a book about democracy, does he ever mention that the Brexit vote was the largest democratic turnout in our entire history. But of course being a modern journalist, who don’t give their audience the news / facts, they give us their views of the facts, which is why we distrust them so. There are some interesting facts, but his underlying bias makes the interesting facts suspect. Finally, the “practical solutions to answer the key questions” are basically nowhere in evidence. This is a pity. Gavin has experience and knowledge, but as a Remainer, chooses to focus his energy and bile on the stupid, ignorant, racist British public who gave an answer he didn’t like.
