Not at all like the book. Historically a problem for me regarding Harriet and how women are portrayed in the 50s. A black woman wouldn’t be living in the same neighborhood as Calvin raising children alone in an affluent neighborhood. As much as I hate that fact, it’s fact. You can’t rewrite it. Harriet was a white abused housewife. Why change that? Her character was empowering enough without making her black and educated, and historically inaccurate. Too bad because I thought the book was very pro woman, but not woke. Apple made this ridiculous. They took out the important points, that made it historically important and real, and made it something that would appeal to a generation thlat chooses to ignore historical facts and rewrite history. Extremely disappointed, disgusted, alarmed and reminded how a new generation of wokeness can take history and alter it, taking what makes women so strong and undermining it. Appalled. If I could give this less than one star I would.
