Who in the right mind would make you play as the character who kills one of the very few characters that we care about in this game? Let alone have you play that same character non-stop for almost half the game. On top of that, the plot is one of the most contrived I've ever seen; not to mention some of the decisions made by Joel and Ellie are so ridiculously idiotic that only the devs of this game are capable of coming up with this BS. Some might argue that the gameplay is decent but when its predecessor prides itself as one of the best video game stories ever, it becomes hard to even think of gameplay as a redeemable quality amongst a litany of glaringly obvious problems. BUT all the criticism above would not have mattered in the slightest for majority of fans if they had somehow managed to give us an ending that gave some closure to this pile of garbage. Instead, we are left with undoubtedly the MOST unsatisfying ending in the history of video games... One that provides no closure, makes no sense at all and reeks of absolute hopelessness for Ellie and the franchise...
