I absolutely loved The King’s Affection. My husband, children and I lived in Seoul in the mid 80’s and we loved our years in that beautiful country with its beautiful people. Watching The King’s Affection I could relive moments in the scenic surroundings and thoroughly enjoy the period drama seeing the characters dressed in their lovely handbok. I have wonderful memories of the antique Korean chests , screens and celadon pottery and in the movie it was all part of the setting. The story was captivating and I binge watched it this week. The actors who portrayed the Crown Prince and the Scribe were so touching. They conveyed so much feeling by just a glance or a look or a downcast eye. They moved me to tears many times. The supporting cast was just as talented. I enjoyed the historical drama, the romance, and the cute humor that relieved the tension of the story. I was so glad it had a happy ending. In the world today we need plenty of happy endings. The message conveyed ov being true to oneself was also very appreciated. This was my first K-drama, but it will not be the last!
