A 10/10 experience with a major flaw. I love the story, gameplay, cinematics, and emotion filled across this game. When you get to play as Abby for a large portion of the game, it was 3 hours too long, in the beginning. But shortly after you get her backstory and her “situation,” you start to cope with her. You still want her dead from beginning to end, but it’s still well done and was a risky choice in writing by Naughty Dog. Did the risk pay off? For the majority of fans, no. People also found it absurd how a certain character died too early into the game, which baffled me, because in a world full of death and disease, I doubt any character is safe without the means of plot armor. I liked the way it started and the way it concluded, two stories of revenge and a task to forget the past that can never be cured with peace among yourself. In a world where being monster keeps you alive, sometimes you still can avoid that monster from coming out before it consumes you.
