I thought this film was wonderful on many levels. Firstly the soundtrack was evocative of being near the coast. Then the beautiful relationship between Ray and Moth was a privilege to witness, despite losing their home and Moth’s degenerative health condition being diagnosed. The messages about how quickly our lives can spiral out of control. How we can often rebuild from the ashes of a life that becomes broken. For me it was devastating and joyful in equal measure. I loved it

This movie was many things. Devastating and overwhelming are just two of the overriding emotions that flashed through me as I watched it. The imagery was mesmerising, shocking and atmospheric, I couldn’t look away. The dialogue was so compellingly good, not word was superfluous I hung on every one… The cast of this movie were perfectly chosen. Kate Winslet was at her Magnificent Best, she Is Lee Miller! I can’t understand why we didn’t know about Lee Miller before. Actually I do. This brave and determined woman must have been seen as an annoying threat to the men around her, like a wasp as she buzzed stubbornly around in the male dominated world of War. No wonder her raw and unapologetic work was suppressed, they couldn’t possibly acknowledge that a woman had had the balls to do this Thank you Kate; for Dis/covering and sharing this important story of female achievement and courage. This was the best film I have ever seen!!

I thought this film was a challenging rollercoaster of emotions, not least the devastating grief portrayed by Adam. The beauty of the relationship between the two characters was sweet and poignant, but overshadowed by the inevitable tragedy of loss. It made me wonder if they were actually both dead. It will stay with me for a very long time.
