I wasn't super hyped for this game considering Bethesda's recent track record has been pretty rough. However, this game hits almost every mark I could have wanted. The best Bethesda game to release since Skyrim, and no, it's not close.
There are so many ways to play this game. The persuasion mechanic is the best it has ever been, and the QOL revamps on stealth are very welcome as well. Dialogue changes considerably depending on who is on your ship, how your relationship is with them, and the choices you make.
I'm convinced the people who dislike this game were either predetermined to hate it, didn't bother putting in enough time to legitimately review the game, don't like Bethesda games in general, or unfortunately, didn't know enough about it to get its worth. This is the truest RPG experience Bethesda has made since Oblivion.
My biggest gripe with the game is that there's too much effort that needs to be put into making sure you aren't running out of inventory space 24/7. My advice would be to spec into storage space once or twice, then rebuild your ship to include some more space once you're able.
My 2nd problem with it, as mentioned above, is that it doesn't tell you about a lot of the mechanics. Ex: Ship building, being able to deposit stuff into your ship from 500m away, and being able to fast travel to places you've been without getting into your ship.
