Enjoyable in its own right but naff all to do with the original books beyond the title and main character names. In fact, I'm so disappointed with it that I've cancelled my Apple TV subscription as I only subscribed to watch this 'adaptation' of Asimov's Foundation trilogy. It's just another soap opera set in space. Basically it's a disgrace.

I first saw this film in a cinema where, for some reason, the management decided to play the soundtrack at maximum volume, making it so oppressive that I just had to leave. Now I've seen it at home on DVD I can appreciate what a good film it is. What a pity the cinema ruined what could have been a cinematic feast by battering my eardrums, like having my head next to a loudspeaker at a pop concert.
