The plot is standard and the acting is great but whoever says the main character (Angela) makes smart decisions against the antagonist doesn't know what "smart decisions" are. Only in the end when they need her to overcome the villain does she start actually helping herself. It's this trope to create "suspense and conflict" that makes me want to smack my head against the wall.

A great movie that both kids and older gen Mario fans can enjoy. I'm a parent but my kid is only one so I was watching this for the fandom and nostalgia hype. It's obviously a kid's movie on the surface but actually isn't overly cheesy or immature. There's plenty of well-done old and newer references for both gens. Plus, it was awesome hearing all the classic themes re-vamped and very well orchestrated.

One of the lamest movies I've seen in a while. All of the characters are unlikeable and as dense as a sack of bricks. The "plot twist" was predicable and so cheesey... Several poorly done thrillers did the same things in the past.
