Really enjoyed this, would recommend. It’s not unpredictable plot wise but it reminds me of the first Bourne movies and feels like you’re shadowing a real contract killer the whole time. The main characters narration is a unique touch, even in the normal everyday moments when he’s constantly looking over shoulder. The films pace has a constant tension, with certain moments where it escalates rapidly into venomous action, yet the action never feels overdone and instead feels hyper realistic. Great performances from fassbender and swinton, some of their best. Fincher creates his signature atmosphere throughout, similar to what he did in the Game.
