Wonderful fictional exploration of Orwelll's character development.Very engaging . Not commenting on the anti colonial background ( of which there is alot) because it is too easy to join the contemporary bandwagon on this topic

Very moving and memorable book with mystery right to the end .The story set in Queensland is realistic and gets under your skin. Good descriptive devices. Enjoyed reading of places I'm familiar with but highlights the underbelly of a city.
