This show is good, very good. The cast and timeline manipulation with concerns to Dr. Manhattan altering our dimension as it pertains to rural America: fascinating. Regina King is amazing as a superhero and I can't wait to see more of her. (Still hear Riley and Huey when she yells in some scenes which adds an amusing twist.)
That being said, it is not at all what I expected when I saw the previews because they lead me to believe that it was a direct continuation of the ramifications of Rorschach's journal at the end of the comic/film. I understand how a fringe group that would support Rorschach's truth would be tied with domestic terrorists like the KKK, but I think personally it distracts from the franchise narrative and as a fanboy would prefer that it not have racism and white supremacy be the focus to a follow up of a book that I absolutely adore.
Now that I addressed my lamentations I'll tell you what I love about it and why I'm going to invest my time and energy (and love?) into this series. The superhero cast looks bang up awesome and I can't wait to see the confrontation between them and the 7th Calvary. I also could appreciate the Tulsa Peele created within this alternate universe that Dr. Manhattan created with a fully integrated police force and a very progressive heavy America adamant on the restriction of personal liberties that we have in this dimension. SUPER SPOILER**** Ozymandias is back and isn't finished bringing peace to the world through the threat of chaos and fear.
