Reading all the other reviews, everyone's right! The recipes are harder to follow because of all the loud banter - but the recipe is online and you can use the iPlayer subtitles! (If a 2 star chef is squirting green stuff on from a wee secret bottle, then you can bet that you won't be fully re-creating that bit in your version!). Matt Tebbit does annoyingly laugh and gibber all through the cooking details. Because he's an all round telly entertainer (Food Unwrapped is brilliant). But that is a good thing - his irreverence and affable telly character has been recognised and he won an award. Telly is entertainment after all. His Daily Kitchen was a total hoot, with his chemistry with the guest presenters. But I do think he should remember that everytime he makes a smart quip, we can't here the show content. And we're paying for it! Same goes for Lauren Laverne on 6 Music! Pesky BBC talent not learning to just shut up sometimes. But all-in-all, Matt is brilliant for the show and remember, no-one is making you choose just one telly channel - you are free to see James and watch both!?! James was more for the adulation of world-class chefs. Fine if you have a large yacht and visit posh ports and cities. Matt is more for the average home cook. Brilliant.
