Undoubtedly THE BEST show I’ve watched in years! BUT, I have NOT read the books. From the online reviews, it seems that fans of the books are not fans of the television series. I believe that’s true for the majority of books being made into shows or movies. That’s OKAY! It seems cruel to trash the television series instead of simply being more positive about the books! The television Season 1 series has a complex, yet easy-to-follow, storyline that sucked me in immediately! I loved the no-doubt “notice” viewers were given when changing from the present day to times past. Brilliant! The forms of psychological abuse Joe endured as a child are becoming more prevalent in homes everywhere. Joe is a role model for overcoming life’s traumas and using bits of them to make a positive impact on his family, community, and beyond. This is a story of holding onto strong morals, ethics, and values, even at great cost. It brings breathtaking scenery into the homes of viewers much like “Longmire” and “Yellowstone.”
