Absolutely loved the book. The film adaption was such a let down. The character depiction of Helen made it impossible to like her & the portrayal of Jake was a disservice to his book character. Over-gaying of the Hugh character was over the top & unnecessary, not to mention Mason, the blonde girl & the chick taking a supposed 'vow of silence. ' This film screamed of trying too hard & was a rushed adaption of the book.
