Your Show of Shows set the standard by which all future comedy sketches were made. Growing up after it was gone from TV and discovering it in 2019 I am able to see the comedians that came after this show all learned their craft from Sid Caesar , his cast and the famous writers that worked with him. As a guitar player I know guitar styles and licks are borrowed from those that came before us. When I watch Sid and Imogene, I see Jackie Gleason , Carol Burnett, Harvey Korman, Tim Conway..I see the comedians I grew up watching that came after Sid and his Show of Shows seeing where they learned how to do their craft, and that was all from Sid Caesar. All these years later the show, the sketches, the writing is timeless. I am 57 and have shown my friends the show. They love it. If you want the best there is, then I suggest you watch 'Your Show of Shows". It is wonderful.
