A good premise - but I was expecting a female driven, thought provoking contemporary sci-fi, and what I got was a book with a prose, dialogue, and flow better suited to romance novels written by women for women.
I also found the protagonist intensely unlikable.
I thought the dialogue was clunky and unrealistic for the types of characters present, with it also being a bit one dimensional or skin deep in it’s analysis and criticisms of over fishing and climate change. I’m by no means a denier either
Enjoyed it enough to finish it though, I guess
