This is a regular bedtime story for our 6 and 4 year olds. It's a beautiful story and is really informative about foster care and the thoughts and feelings of children in that environment - a world that is unfamiliar to my children. It's prompted rich conversations and empathy towards other people and animals. Themes in the book come up in conversation as we go through our everyday life and I find it really useful to refer things we notice in the world to the characters in the book. It's a feel good story and has an overarching theme of hope and generosity. Love it
