Not a bad build up, but it then got so completely lost in its own campiness that it came off as cartoonish. When it was at the crucial time time to pull back from the 70's talk show mood to land the horror element, they doubled down instead, which took me right out of the movie. No reason to have the effects look like they were made in the 70's, nor the acting, which I assume was the intent. A waste of David Dastmalchian, who I am a fan of. Was really looking forward to this movie, but it was all gimmick with no meat on its bones. Could have been great!
