Blaze Escamilla

When I first watched this movie in theaters of 2011 I was too young to fully embrace and appreciate the amazing film it truly is. But even then I knew the movie touched me in ways I'd never forget. I watched this movie again recently and loved every moment of it as I did back then, I didn't realize until this recent viewing however how much this movie impacted how I see and feel cinema. While everyone else I watched this with at that young age just brushed off the movie, I felt something afterward and this was probably the first film that left me feeling so much powerful emotions that it now sets the standards for my emotions in movies to this day. One of my personal favorite Scorsese films, and definitely reccomend this film to anybody who is a fan of the magic in movies.

I love this movie because it's hilarious and it doesn't take itself too seriously. Which is also why I'm only giving 4 stars instead of 5. Not taking yourself seriously comes with a price when the mood shifts at the end of the film, when things actually get serious it's excused because they don't know it's real, but even when they find out it's real the stakes are there but the actors seriousness is non existent. Also a great cast.
