People seem to mistakenly think this show is attempting to make you like these unlovable characters. I couldn’t stop watching this show despite my inability to like or sympathize with anyone on screen. The point of this show, or especially the first series, is to unveil incredibly realistic scenarios and interactions when it comes to privileged, egotistical individuals who lack self awareness. They come in every form. However, there is a clear push to notice the lesser of evils. There are people you can’t help but root for in certain situations despite your disdain for them. This show and its dialogue tests the viewer. Some of the lines are very in your face, yes, which might confuse people into thinking: how the hell am I supposed to like this character? However, that is the point. Nobody is likable and everyone holds their personal flaws. Some are more unbearable than others. It’s a lens into how throwing money at a problem will not solve it. This is shown in many shapes and forms by the end of the first series. It no longer becomes a whodunnit and a mystery. It simply continues to peel back the layers of privilege and naivety.
