Never have I disliked a movie more than this. There was too many things going on. First two people randomly get killed in broad daylight. Then an earthquake which opens up a secret chamber. Then a demon possesses random people. I was literally so confused and disappointed.
I feel like no thought was put into the movie. The only thing I got was jump scares, which were repetitive and lame. There also was a lot of bloodshed and brutal killings, which were more disgusting than scary.
The thing that irritated me mostly though was the children’s poor acting skills. Why was the only reaction to anything scary a wide-eye stare? A mother is literally doing cartwheels on the walls and all they can do is stare into space? Their lack of concern made my blood boil. That’s not a normal reaction. They all just bitterly accepted the demonic fate of their mother and waited until she attacked them. No running was done. They all just stared at the creature in question.
The narrative was poor also. The possessed people said meaningless things that were meant to be scary but came off weird and not necessary. My burning question is why the possessed individuals kept going to the kitchen to cook. I was very frustrated during the movie. Too many visual effects were put into it. The movie was just wrong on so many levels. I feel like it was designed to be viewed by 13 year olds and not adults. I had to leave the cinema early because I couldn’t sit there and watch such a horrible movie.
This was a waste of time.
