I honestly remember bits and pieces of Artemis Fowl....but even with barely any recollection, I knew this was just off. To the people that say this is one of the best movies....yikes. Even if it wasn’t a horrible adaptation, it’s still not up there with the greatest. I mean The Bleach live action ended up better than this. As did Beauty and the Beast. The list is amazingly quite extensive for adaptations that are better. I shudder to say this...but this movie falls just a few places above the live action Avatar The Last Airbender Imagine if Harry Potter (Way better than this movie obviously) had reversed Dudley and Harry’s roles and STILL sent him to Hogwarts. Imagine how different that whole movie would’ve been. That is the Artemis Fowl movie in a nutshell. This movie is for children and it accomplishes that perfectly. The actors are perfect for this children movie that decided to steal the names and title from a vastly superior book series. I also can’t give the producers a round of applause because again, this was basically a legal loophole for plagiarism. Visuals were pretty dope though, so thanks for that. On the other hand....WHO THOUGHT THE VOICE OF MULCH DIGGUMS WAS ANYWHERE NEAR OKAY TO NARRATE ANYTHING. HOW DID YOU NOT GET ANNOYED HEARING THAT VOICE FOR AN ENTIRE MOVIE EVEN WHILE YOU WERE TRYING TO SHOW THOSE EXACT SAME VISUALS THAT ARE ACTUALLY NICE?!?! In summary, if you even remotely enjoyed the books, you’ll hate it If you know absolutely nothing of them, you might enjoy this.
