There are so many reasons why this show sucks. But the main reason would probably be, in trying to make the show empowering to woman, it had the TOTAL OPPOSITE effect. Mel is a complete militant feminist. She comes across as an angry extremist and the very important message she is suppose to be getting across gets ignored because she's just too in your face and annoying as hell about it. I literally got to the point where I got so annoyed with the characters that I stopped watching it, particularly Mel's character. What is worse, the actor herself, talks with so much facial expression, it's not natural. Honestly though, the series had so much much potential to be amazing. I honestly think they could've chosen a better cast and not dwelve into the extreme feminism area. It's just too much. The original show took a more subtle approach to feminism, it wasn't all angry up in your face. But it left a lasting impression. It looked at issues women might possibly have with men in the work place. It allowed you to open your eyes and to think for yourself. It inspired you to be an empowered women, it showcased the beauty of sisterhood and woman uplifting other woman in a beautiful and positive way. The show left you feeling happy, giddy and wishing you could be a charmed one living with your sisters. It was amazing. The new show doesn't invoke any of this. And that's just sad, truly.
